Patricia Michael Murr

(1958-2021) Patricia Michael Murr, 62, of Fleetwood, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center after a brief illness. Born December 28, 1958 in Sharon PA, she was the daughter of Elizabeth (Pallaver) Michael and the late Ivan Michael. Patti was married for over 35 years to David Murr. They exchanged life-long vows in Reading on October 5, 1985, in a service officiated by the groom’s father, the Rev. Dr. James Murr. She is survived by her loving husband, mother, sons Austin, of Fleetwood, and Shane, of Columbia MD, daughter-in-law, Allison, and one grandchild, Ashton, whom Patti absolutely adored. Patti was the rock on which her family is built and will be dearly missed. There is a sign she keeps at the front of the family home that has her favorite quote from poet Robert Browning: “Grow old with me! The best is yet to be.” A beautiful, loving person inside and out, Patti was always an overachiever. She graduated 3rd in her class from West Hazleton High School in 1976. She was in the National Honor Society, concert choir, elected to the homecoming court, a cheerleader, and co-editor of the school yearbook. Patti graduated magna cum laude in 1980 from Kutztown University. Patti enjoyed a long career as a Berks County employee holding various managerial positions. She retired in 2017 after 37 years of service. The family would like to thank all the medical professionals at Hershey Medical Center for the expert care they provided Patti. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to the charity of their choice. A celebration of life for family and friends will be announced at a later date.
