He was the husband of LaRue A. (Bauscher) Loeper.
Born in Reading on March 14, 1927, he was a son of the late Philip W. and Margaret M. (Mayer) Loeper.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Midway as a Seaman 2nd Class and was a plank owner of the Midway.
Mr. Loeper was the owner of Loeper Roofing & Sheetmetal for 12 years, a pigeon control subcontractor at J.C. Ehrlich for 30 years, retiring in 1986, and last worked in building maintenance at the Rose Corporation for three years.
He was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are six children: Eileen R. (Loeper), widow of Barry Luckenbill, Hamburg; Gail L. (Loeper), wife of Tab Wenrich, Wernersville; Jeffrey L. Loeper, Hyde Park; Kay S. (Loeper), wife of K. Scott Hartman, Alsace Township; Lori J. (Loeper), wife of Steven S. Jacobs, West Lawn; and Todd A. Loeper, husband of Patricia C. (Adams) Loeper, Alsace Township; 13 grandchildren: Monica, Timothy, Matthew, Thomas, Travis, Jeffrey, LeeAnn, Kendra, Kyle, Scott, Kelly, Alex and Michael; four great-grandchildren: Weston, Miles, Haley and Ian; and seven siblings: Robert, husband of Marie Loeper, Reading; Carl, husband of Marion Loeper, Rochester, N.Y.; Virginia, widow of George Arentz, Greenfields; Jeanette, wife of Robert Rubright, Wyomissing; John, husband of Jean Loeper, Sinking Spring; Philip, husband of Helen Loeper, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Thomas, husband of Margaret Loeper, Richmond, Va.
He was predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth, wife of Frances McDonald, Reading.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday promptly at 10 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels RCC. Friends will be received Saturday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Bean Funeral Home, North 16th and Rockland streets, Hampden Heights. Burial will be made in Gethsemane Cemetery.
