Robert Adams Obituary

Robert D. Adams, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at home. He was the loving husband of Dyanne (Kunsman) Adams, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Reading, he was the son of the late C.Arthur and Marian (Rebholz) Adams. A graduate of Reading High School's Class of 1960, Robert served in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He attended the University of Miami. In 1979, Robert started Adams Chemical Service, Inc. which he owned and oeprated for 34 years until retiring in 2014. Robert was also an avid gardener and a talented woodworker. He loved spending time with his family in Avalon and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was their biggest fan. Left to cherish his memory are wife, Dyanne; son, Chris Adams, husband of Ellen, of Sinking Spring; daughters, Kelly Close, wife of Richard, and Kim Duffy, both of Wyomissing; and grandchildren: Matthew Close, Adam Close, Jakob Duffy, Kendall Duffy, Ella Duffy, Sean Adams Grace Adams, Macy Adams, and Sydney Adams. Robert was predeceased by his sister, Marian "Paddy" Miller, widow of the late Leon A. Miller, Esq. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. 739 Penn Avenue West Reading, PA 19611. A prayer service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Atonement Lutheran Church, 5 Wyomissing Blvd, Wyomissing, PA 19610. Burial will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery in Reading. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, 1161 Pershing Blvd. Reading, PA 19611.
