129 East Lancaster Avenue
Shillington, Pennsylvania
at The Reading Hospital and Medical
Center after a courageous 2-year battle
with esophageal cancer.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Ingelore (Philippsen) Bruno and the late Vincent P. Bruno.
Bob was a graduate of Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science.
He was employed as a Pharmacist at Rite Aid in Kenhorst for 20 years. He went on to work as the Pharmacist for Giant Food Stores in Shillington for 10 years and in
Ephrata for 2 years. As a teenager, he also worked at
Maple Grove Raceway as a handyman and in concessions.
Bob was a very active member in Boy Scout Troop 241, where he was involved with his son, Vincent, for 15 years. As Vince rose through the ranks from tiger cub to Eagle Scout, Bob held many titles including Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, and Cacoosing District Life to Eagle chair. He received many awards including the Triple Crown for Florida Sea Base, Philmont and Northern Tier, as well as the Order
of the Arrow Brotherhood-Arrow of Life.
Bob had many loves in his life, which included his family, woodworking, traveling to Disney World and the beach,
attending the Weaverland Produce Auction, and watching his daughter dance.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melissa A. (Coller) Bruno of Brecknock Twp.;
children, Vincent Robert Bruno and Heather Lynn Bruno; granddaughter, Norah Elizabeth Bruno; brothers, Anthony O. Bruno, husband of Catherine of Sinking Spring; Vincent J. Bruno of Mohnton; Richard S. Bruno, husband of Karen of Mt. Penn; nine nieces and nephews and his favorite
4-legged friend Jack.
Bob will always be remembered as a loving, friendly and upbeat guy whose smile never left his face. He is leaving behind a huge support group of family, friends and
co-workers that he lovingly referred to as Team Bruno,
and Bruno Strong shirts can be found all over the country as well as abroad. His favorite quote was, "Live life to the
fullest because no one is promised a tomorrow," and that
is how he lived his life.
Funeral service will be held at Allegheny Evangelical
Lutheran Church, 1327 Alleghenyville Road, Mohnton, on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends and relatives at Bean Funeral Home, 129 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Monday, May 9, 2016 from 5-8:00 p.m. and at church on Tuesday from 9-10:45 a.m. The
private interment will take place at Fairview Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of traditional funeral attire, Bruno Strong shirts be worn instead. If you don't have one, any uplifting shirt that you think would put a smile on someone's face like the ones he always wore is appropriate.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bob's memory to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605 and Boy Scouts of America Hawk Mt. Council, 5027 Pottsville Pike, Reading, PA 19605.

Since the time that I was your dorm mate at Millersville University and we would all be jealous of the beautiful roses Bob would send you... To the day I almost shared the delivery room with you at Reading Hospital and then actually sharing in your joy as Heather was delivered... Your family has always been a source of admiration for all of us. The strength you have all shown us will be carried with so many moving forward with their lives. Bob you were an amazing Husband, Father and Friend and will be greatly missed. But... Your legacy is just as amazing... Brunostrong!!!

This is so surreal.. I can't wrap my head around the fact that you're gone. No more funny phone calls, no more good morning snap chat messages, no more ridiculous texts. I'm so lucky to have had you as my teacher in the pharmacy, you helped make me the technician I am. You, Bob, are such an inspiration. If more people lived and loved like you the world would be a better place. TeamBruno will forever live on, we will all live in your honor. You're a true fighter. I love you and I miss you already. Thank you for always being the purest form of you.

As I am visiting my daughter grave today on her 47th birthday I remembered this poem: Do not weed at my grave, for I'm not there, I've a date with a butterfly to dance in the air. I'll be singing in the sunshine wild and free.
Playing tag with the wind While I'm waiting for thee. God bless you Missy and family......

Bob will be missed. He was a great mentor to the Boy Scouts. He was scoutmaster to my son as he was coming up the ranks to Eagle Scout and learned a lot from Bob and the other leaders. He helped mold a lot of young boys into the Eagle Scouts they are today. The lessons and skills they learned are priceless. Thank you for your time and service.
