Born in Hudson, he was the son of the late John and Constance Ciechoski Leshinski and the husband of Irma Ragnelli Leshinski of Narvon, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage.
Robert was a member of St. Benedict Church, Mohnton.
He received a bachelor's degree in education from Bloomsburg State University and a master's in education from Cheyney University.
Robert taught history, geography and woodshop at Yeadon High School for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and furniture making.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
In addition to his wife, Irma, Robert is survived by his daughter, Ann Miller, and her husband, Randall, of Scottsville, Va.; his son, Robert Leshinski Jr., and his wife, Olga, of Palmyra, N.J.; three grandchildren: Jennifer Mesich, David Miller and Steven Miller; two great-granddaughters, Katherine and Josephine; sister Geraldine Sarnecki of Plains; and brothers Stanley Leshinski of Sacramento, Calif., and Lawrence of Paway, Calif.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Leshinski.
Robert's funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, where family and friends may call beginning at 9 a,m.
Interment will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
Memorials in Robert's honor may be made to St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540-8243 or to Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center Sunshine Fund, 2499 Zerbe Road, Narvon, PA 17555.
