I just learned of Ruthie's passing. I grew up across the street from her and she was my favorite person on the block...hands down!! My mother remained her neighbor for many more years after I left the nest and I would see Ruthie on my visits to mom. As a child, she used to give me cuttings from her plants in her support of my love for all things botanical. It didn't make me a popular 10-year-old boy to have such a passion and Ruthie certainly eased the pain of not fitting in. I am lighting a candle for her today. Much love and gratitude for this wonderful woman!

Miss you, my very dear friend, Ruthie. We met when I was stationed in Reading in 1985 and enjoyed so many good times together visiting historical and other sites over the years. Spending time with Ruthie was always something I eagerly looked forward to. You are deeply missed !

Ruth Epler was my geography teacher at Southern. I enjoyed her classes. She made them interesting. She also assisted the gym teacher with track after which she played tennis with friends and I. In later years, we spent many times at Camp Adahi hiking, canoeing and playing ping pong. She was a treasure of information about nature and history of Pandora Park. She will be missed and her memory continue.
