George Stanley "Butch" Epler, Jr.,78, of West Monroe passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Butch was born on December 18, 1946, into George and Norma Epler, Sr. He attended Crosley Elementary and both West Monroe Junior High and West Monroe High School. As a young boy Butch enjoyed his paper route and working at Gentry's Dixie Dandy. He was a music lover, having formed a band with neighbor friends, playing guitar and vocals. He was a lifelong Saints fan and enjoyed collecting and assembling model cars. His hobbies were gardening, tending to flowers, Bingo, and painting. In his early years, he liked ceramics. He was a member of the Nursing Home Olympics and won first place in the wheelchair races every year.

Butch was preceded in death by his grandparents, Soloman Benjamin Epler and Harriet Victoria Epler; Samuel Edward Henderson and Louise E. Laysone Henderson Bratton; parents, George Stanley Epler, Sr. Norma Henderson Epler; his second wife, Carol Epler; mother of his child, Charlotte Wheelis; brothers-in-law, Robert Wilkerson, Sr., and George M. Martinez; host of aunts and uncles, cousins and other family members who he loved dearly.

Survivors include the mother of his child, Mary Ann Wilson; children, Lisa Ann Barton and her husband Martin of Oklahoma, Eric Wheelis and his wife Buffy of Missouri; siblings, Vicky Epler Wilkersn of Eros; Mel Martinez of West Monroe; grandchildren, Trevor Perry and his wife Annelease; Chance Perry-McNeil and husband Chance, Cherokee Wheelis and Trenton, Cheyanne; nieces and nephews, Felicia and Gene; Toni and Kris, Robert Jr., Angela and Jon, Mike Nicholas and Melissa; great grandchildren, Troian and Dragon Wheelis; great nieces and nephews, Dakota, Raven, Mackenzie and C.J., Austin, Hunter, Robert III and Benjamin; host of cousins, family and friends and extended family of several nursing homes; staff and residents who loved him dearly.
