Michelle Cusano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Griffin Funeral Home - West Monroe on Feb. 23, 2026.
Michelle Antoinette Cusano was born January 26, 1965, in Ohio, and passed from this earthly place on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 61.

Michelle was outgoing, independent, and full of life. She loved traveling- traveling to California to visit Sally (her mom) & Carl Horn. With a deep love for music of every genre - even traveling to New Orleans to attend a Grateful Dead concert with her daughter, who proudly inherited her love of music.

She was a devoted animal lover, especially when it came to dogs. Michelle spent years rescuing and fostering as many as she could, always making sure they found loving homes if she couldn't keep them herself - though she never had fewer than two of her own. We have no doubt she was greeted by many four-legged fur babies waiting for her with slobbery kisses.

Her home was a welcoming place - always full, always warm. She loved cooking and baking, often feeding the neighborhood whenever she could. Her children's friends affectionately called her "Mom" because she loved and accepted them as her own.

Michelle had two green thumbs and created a lush jungle wherever she lived. She was crafty and handy, fiercely independent, and if she didn't know how to do something, she learned. She made sure to teach her children everything she knew - cooking, sewing, gardening, cleaning, fixing things, even writing with both hands. She believed in knowing how to take care of yourself and the people you love.

After moving to Louisiana 13 years ago, she formed special friendships with Bones, San, and Danyel. Her son who lived with her on and off throughout the years, but most importantly was there for her in those final days to help his dad and her health. She had a big heart and a smile that could overwhelm you with love.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Mike Cooper.

She is survived by her mother and step father Sally & Carl Horn; her brother, Chris Cooper; the father of her children, Willie Wilson who after 27 yrs found their way back to each other and were there for each other in the end; her nieces, Jaime & Jan Aron, and Kylie Fender; and the two people she loved more than anything in this world - her children, William "Billy" Wilson (33) and Shannon Wilson (35).

Gone but never forgotten. No longer in pain. Loved by all and deeply missed.
