Ruth Levan Obituary

Ruth Evelyn Levan, 102, of Wyomissing, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 8, 2024. She was born in Niles, Ohio, to Henry C. and Gertrude V. (Bortner) Seitz. She shared a marriage of 35 years with the late David L. Levan, Esq. Ruth is survived by her three children, Barbara R. Levan of Wyomissing, James D. Levan (Eileen) Hobe Sound, Florida, and John D. Levan (partner, Suzanne Bado) of Reading. She is survived also by her grandchildren, Marnie Sadow (Joseph); Kelsey Donoghue (Michael), Emily Levan, and William Levan; and her great-grandchildren, Maya Sadow, Ruby Sadow, Parker Donoghue, and Winnie Donoghue, all of whom she loved dearly. Ruth was a curious, kind, and loving person, who was always willing to help others. She was a lifelong reader, learner, and bridge player. She was a longstanding board member of the Friends of the Reading Public Museum and served at her church, Bausman Memorial U.C.C., in many capacities. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ruth's memory may be made to Bausman Memorial U.C.C. A memorial service will be held at a future date. Edward J. Barbara... I was saddened to read that your mother has passed away. I remember her gentle nature and soft smile when we were together at Lions Club functions. May you and your brothers be comforted by memories of the happy times you shared with her.
