Sally Miksiewicz Obituary
Sally Sabilla (Breidegam) Miksiewicz, CEO and Vice Chairperson of East Penn Manufacturing, passed away on June 20, 2014. She died tragically at the age of 52, in an unexpected running accident.
Sally is survived and deeply missed by her children, Timothy R., Daniel D., Katelyn S., and Matthew J. Miksiewicz, all of Oley; her life partner, Victor M. Rodriguez, Jr. of Oley, her parents, DeLight E., Jr. and Helen S. (Merkel) Breidegam of Fleetwood; and her brother, Daniel D. Breidegam, husband of Mary (Reilly), Oley; and nephew, Mortimer Smedley, husband of Sara (Brasted) and daughter, Kutztown; and niece Gemma Smedley and children, Oley. She was predeceased by brother, Timothy M. Breidegam.
Sally grew up with East Penn and spent her entire career at the company founded by her father and grandfather. One of the reasons she loved this company so much was that everyone there had become a part of her family.
She worked for the company for over 30 years in many positions, covering a wide range of responsibilities.
Throughout her years at the company, Sally was the driving force and passion that helped carry out the legacy of the generation that came before her. She led with integrity advancing the company's position while caring deeply about her fellow workers, the customer, community, and environment.
She was a vital member of the community serving on the development committee for Lehigh Valley Health Network; the board of directors for Moravian College, Sageworth, and CUE Incorporated.
Sally received her B.A. degree in business management and sociology from Moravian College in 1984.
Sally's passion for all that she did was so powerful that it will serve as a tremendous inspiration for many generations to come. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy will move on, powered by the very vision she instilled in all those around her.
Services: A celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at the Kutztown University O'Pake Field House. Doors will open at 8:00 a.m. Service will begin at 9:00 a.m. There will be no public viewing.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sally Breidegam Miksiewicz Scholarship Fund, Moravian College, 1200 Main Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018. Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., Kutztown, is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.ludwickfh.com.

I'm sure no words can describe what this wonderful daughter, sister, mother, partner, and friend's tragic loss means. What an irony that someone who was so "alive" can be taken so tragically. At the same time it is so fitting that Delight and Helen, who've been so good to people and their communities, now have two angels in heaven. Rest in peace, Sally, and watch over your families who are all so much better from having known you!

Sally was one of my first riding students, and I babysat her when her parents were away on trips. Though I hadn't seen her in years, I am so saddened by her death. I know so many of my friends at Dekka are missing her terribly.

I never actually knew Sally, but my husband works at East Penn, so I feel like I did. He spoke often about Sally, and he spoke highly of her. I've heard many stories of how compassionate Sally was about her East Penn family and what a passionate and determined leader she was. At their yearly Scottish Rite Cathedral supervisory meetings, I've heard what a gifted speech giver she was. My husband has lost a friend and a colleague. I pray for both the Breidegam and Miksiewicz families to find some level of comfort and solace in light of this terrible tragedy. Heaven must have needed an angel is the only reason I can come up with. R.I.P. Sally and I am sorry I never got to meet you, because I would have liked to call you "friend."

I had the honor of meeting Sally at my five year breakfast the company treats us to. I saw what a powerful petsonify and influence Sally was. I only saw her once on work floor but saw people responding to her in a very positive way. When I passed her grocery shopping we acknowledged one another I knew I would enjoy Sally's company as a friend ! Can't express the words of comfort needed to comfort those she is leaving behind. Just keep the Faith and Sally in your hearts !
