Sally A. Nichols Sally A. Nichols, 83, of Reading, passed away Wednesday, January 12th, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph. Sally was born in Reading, on April 9, 1938, a daughter of the late Marie (Lengle) and Kenneth Ludwig. She was the widow of Edward J. Nichols. Mr. Nichols died December 18, 1996. Sally was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Reading. Sally is survived by three daughters, Penny, wife of Sheldon Ash, Sherry, widow of Brian Coles and Tammy Nichols, widow of Robert Vandergrift and a son, John, husband of Cynthia Nichols. Sally is also survived by her brother, David Lugwig and she is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Sally in addition to her husband was predeceased by a daughter Holly Nichols, Nov. 13, 1975, and her sister Erminie Meckerly and a brother Kenneth. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 19th at Sanders Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 1501 North 11th St, Reading.
