Scott Szymanski Obituary

Scott W. Szymanski Scott W. Szymanski, 50, passed away on September 16, 2020. Scott was a sensitive, compassionate and caring soul. Scott, who was fondly known as Shemp, was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a big heart and loved making people laugh and helped anyone in need. Scott loved music and traveled with friends all over the country to see his favorite bands, including the Grateful Dead, Phish and many others. Scott also enjoyed snowboarding, kayaking, trips to the beach, and sitting by the fire. He was a skilled carpenter and handy around the house. He loved animals and they always loved him back tenfold. He was an artist to the core and a romantic at heart. Scott was extremely proud of his business, Rolling Spirits, which he conceived and expanded over ten years. This business allowed him to spread his positive energy everywhere he went. Before starting Rolling Spirits, Scott was a teacher at Beverly Hills Middle School and Upper Darby School District. He was also a licensed realtor with Snyder Real Estate. Scott was born and spent his childhood in Wilmington, DE, on June 25,1970. He lived in Wilmington, DE, Wyomissing, PA and Reading, PA, and recently moved to Lancaster, PA. Scott was a graduate of Wyomissing Area High School and Millersville University. Scott is survived by his parents, Renee and Peter Fox and William Szymanski, and his siblings Michele Padovani, Becky Fox, Jennifer (David) Reinhart, and Peter Fox, Jr. He is also survived by his partner of 27 years, Jennifer Snyder, and their pit bull, Chavez. Scott is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews, and by friends all over the country. His rare and genuine personality will be missed immensely. A memorial service will be planned. In lieu of gifts please consider a contribution to the SPCA or the American Diabetes Association. Edward J. I remember Scott´s pride in his membership in the Unmanned submarine team at Millersville University and their placement in the competition in San Diego. Scott had an intelligence and creativity that was not measurable by traditional standardized testing. He made an impact on his tech students at BH and he incorporated a project-based approach as the evaluation tool to test his students. My condolences to Scott´s family and friends on the first anniversary of this difficult year without him. Bev Nicholas

I still can't believe that my good friend Blade had passed. He was an awesome guy, helped me get through my first years of teaching. Helped me make extra money landscaping with him on the side, introduced me to some great music and was someone who I could talk to like we hung out everyday, even though we only saw each other a couple times a year. We had planned to meet up soon with the BH wolf pack, I guess that will have to wait. Gonna miss Shemp, Blade, Mr. Syzmanski. I can still hear his laugh.

Scott was a shining star in the technology department at Beverly Hills Middle School . I had the pleasure of working with him on our daily morning broadcast at station BHMS. Scott was a gifted teacher who worked to engage his students and improve the district’s curriculum in the area of technology. As a colleague he brighten our days with his humor, creativity and support for the joint efforts of teaching and learning. On a personal level he suggested and made home repairs for myself and others. He always was available for advice and encouragement on many levels. Scot was both a team player and an individual. He came to us when Jenn was in law school and was so proud of her academic excellence and his love for her sustained their time apart. I remember being in awe of a coffee table he made her one Christmas. My deepest sympathy to all of you family and friends who loved him and shared his life. Rest In Peace Scott. Bev Nicholas

I just found out and I'm crushed to hear my friend is gone. I met Scott at Millersville when we were both Tech Ed students. We eventually worked together as Tech teachers at BH where we affectionately called him Blade. We would snowboard together, kayak together and talk about old VW's and motorcycles.
I will miss him dearly. Fly
