She was born Feb. 16, 1927 in Chester, PA, to Francis S. and Emma (Wright) VanZant and grew up in
She loved her family and cherished family gatherings. As a youth, she enjoyed all sports, served as field
hockey captain in high school and college and was an avid golfer as an adult.
Graduating Media HS in 1945, she went on to receive a degree in Phys. Ed. at West Chester State Teachers
College, later teaching Phys. Ed. & Health at Wilmington Friends School.
She was married to Harry E. McCauley for 28 years and raised 5 children. She worked at Century 21 and The Franklin Mint. After her retirement, she married Harvey R. Metsger and lived at a golfing community in Myrtle Beach.
She was predeceased by husband, Harry E. McCauley; husband, Harvey R. Metsger, and brother,
Rodman VanZant.
She is survived by her
children: Karen G. (Lawrence) McMullen, Lisa M. (Thomas) Seelinger, Neil B. (Maria) McCauley, Glenn E. McCauley and Greg K. McCauley, as well as 9
grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
An 11:00 a.m. service, 10:00 a.m. visitation on
