Sion Friday Obituary

Sion Friday, Reading businesswoman, died Aug. 12 in AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City, N.J.

Friday, 90, Reading, was the owner of Sion Fashions, North Fifth Street, for more than 50 years.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Jacques and Fanny (Resnick) Shapiro.

Surviving is a son, Alan J. Crystal, Reading.

Other survivors include two granddaughters, Michele D. Crystal, Horsham, and Nicole Y. Crystal, Reading; and a grandson, Mark D. Crystal, Reading.

She was predeceased by a sister, Fay Brisk, former column writer for Reading Eagle Company.

Memorial services will be Friday at noon in the Henninger Funeral Home Inc. Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the Reading Public Museum, 500 Museum Road, Reading, PA 19611, or the GoggleWorks, 201 Washington St., Reading, PA 19601.
