Our prayers, and the prayers of our local church in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, NY have and continue to be active for Stephen's wife, parents, siblings, and extended family and friends. May you all feel the presence of the great comforter during this time. We did not know Stephen well, but had hoped to cross paths, as we live in a surfing community not far from him, in NYC. We are grateful that we can make a donation in his memory, to an organization that fits with his love of surfing and one that we are also familiar with. We wish we could have been at the service, to celebrate his life, in person. From what we are reading, he lived a beautiful life, with love and service to others. Our hearts are with you.

The memories of our youth and playing with the neighborhood gang are still vivid . I worked with Steve for the first time this past year on a very long project. Sometimes working long hours together... Steve always found little ways to inject joy and humor into our many zoom calls. And there were many! But it never felt like work with Steve. He brought a lightness to the
project while giving it his all. He was always willing to lend a hand, share a smile. A very kind spirit. Due to Covid, I never met him. But I am so happy I had an opportunity to know him. I will miss him.

My heartfelt condolences to the Mooney family. Steve was such an amazing colleague - bright and always had a smile on his face. My fondest memory is when our office was changing, Steve and I finished an entire bottle of bourbon (so it is not thrown out) and we bonded ever since that date. I cannot believe he is no longer with us. He will be missed.

When I joined Steve´s team at work, I was immediately struck by how much joy and laughter he brought to the group and how widely beloved he seemed to be by the rest of our coworkers. He was a bright light who made me feel like it was OK to be myself and a reminder to not take ourselves too seriously while still working hard. He will be sorely missed.

Steve was a warm, kind and upbeat man in all of our interactions at work. He was always smiling and maintained a positive outlook in challenging situations.
