Theodore Stabolepszy Obituary

Theodore Stabolepszy, 87, Golden Living Center, left us to join his beloved wife,

Fil, on Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010. He had been a resident of Golden Living Center since October of 2009.

Ted was a son of the late Clement and Helen (Blasko) Stabolepszy. He was born and lived all his life in Reading, graduating from Reading High School in 1940.

Ted was a printer by trade, spending the last 25 years of his career at Standard Offset Printing, where he was production manager and later vice president. He also began and operated Ted Stabolepszy Steel Rule Dies.

He was an accomplished carpenter. He was constantly renovating his own house and completing many projects for friends and relatives. In later years, he used these skills to make toys and furniture for his children and grandchildren.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially loved navigating by chart off the Jersey coast. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in combat as a lineman with an artillery unit in the South Pacific in 1944 and 1945, seeing action in New Guinea and the Phillipines.

Ted came to know the Lord in 1975, and continued to be active in several congregations, including the Boyertown Church and the Reading Church of Christ, until his health prevented attendance.

He is survived by his brother, Clement, Redondo Beach Calif.; daughters, Barbara, wife of Antonio Badamo, Hazelton; Ann, wife of Vincent Rosato, Mohnton; Mary Lecce, Covington, La.; son, Mark, husband of Phyllis (Hartz) Stabolepszy, Leesport; grandchildren: Amy (Ziegler) Moss, Bel Air, Md.; Andra (Lecce) Schreiner, Dallas, Texas; Hilary Ziegler, Bel Air, Md.; Christopher Lecce, Covington, La.; Paige, Hannah, Jill and Clay Stabolepszy, all of Leesport; and three great grandchildren.

Ted was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, generous with his time and support. He and Fil created a warm and loving home for their family and all who entered. He is dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at noon at the Auman Funeral Home, 247 Penn Street, Reading, where friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon. Interment will be in the Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood.

Barbara, Ann, Mary Helen and Mark,
I was so sorry to read of your fathers passing. I was unable to attend the services as my husband was in the hospital. Ann, I noticed your daughter lives in Bel Air, Md. My sister does not live that far away from you.
