"When you have once seen the glow of happiness on the face of a beloved person, you know that a man can have no vocation but to awaken that light on the faces surrounding him; and you are torn by the thought of the unhappiness and night you cast, by the mere fact of living, in the hearts you encounter." - Quote by Albert Camus
In reading the entries from this guest book, I am deeply moved by the happiness that Travis brought to others and I am reminded of the quote above. Travis exumed happiness and in doing that, spread happiness to all those around him. As his cousin, I did not spend enough time with him as I would have wanted to, but I know that those times I did share with him were always happy times. He was brilliant and had a heart that could engulf an ocean.
Travis I still keep pictures of you around my house from younger days and I want you to know that you will always be remembered fondly. Thank God for our newest Guardian angel, I don't know anyone who deserves it more. While those of us that were left behind are filled with sorrow at this time, may we all find the joy in knowing that you are with God and that you remain alive in the hearts of all of us. Thank you!!!
Aunt Karen and David, May you find peace and comfort in this time, surrounding yourself with all those that adored your son.
Uncle Charlie and Aunt Beckie, May you also find peace and comfort.
I love you all and am here for anything you may need. Travis will be remembered always!!!

it's kind of funny sitting here thinking of how things would suddenly become more lively once this guy entered the room. three things will always make me think of travis: hiester's lanes, glassjaw, and food...dude was hilarious, the only thing above his great sense of humor (to me at least) was how much he loved sitting down to enjoy a big meal.
my heart goes out to his family and his extremely tight knit group of friends, the people who aquainted me with him. tuck, patrick, jared, etc....you're all great people and although some have said he's making fun of everyone for being emotional, you know he appreciates all of your love, just as much as you appreciated his. he was so devoted to all of you. it was always completely obvious to me that you all and his family meant the world to him.
my only complaint is not knowing travis a little better. he's in good company and at peace. my love to all of you.

I haven't seen Travis since we graduated from Conrad Weiser in 2001. But when I heard of his passing, I was shocked. It's been 6 years, I can still remember how he made everyone laugh. He's not someone that you could forget, and always seemed to be the life of any room. My thoughts are with his family and friends, the ones who were closer to him than I. You'll forever be in my thoughts, Trav. Rest in peace.

I was introduced to Travis shortly after Matt and I started dating and I immediately knew why Matt considered him a brother, and why he was so lucky to have someone like that in his life. It is an honor to have met Travis and he will always be remembered for his kind heart and of course, the way he made us all laugh.

They say you can judge ones character by who they surround themselves with, and knowing how much Travis cared about friendship and family, this rings especially true. I dont know anyone with a wider grouping of such interesting caring people as Travis has. And they all admired him, which is truely the testament of Travis' impact in all our lives. I also dont know anyone who had a closer, healthy, and honest relationship with his parents. He really really loved you Karen and Dave, as did you him.
We all have so many different stories, a lifetime of Travis to share with one another. Lets make sure that we continue doing so, and honor one of Travis' great characteristics, the ability to make us laugh. So dont forget to continue to laugh with him.
When I reflect on college, Travis is in many of those memories. So many good memories with such a good friend. And none of those can be taken away. I'll miss you so so much.
I'd give anything to sink into my seat one more time while we watched a comedy at the movies.
With Love.

Travis, anything I could say couldn't begin to express to you how much your presence in my life has meant to me. You were and will always be one of the closest friends I could ever hope to have. I love you. I know right now you're somewhere making fun of me for saying that, so shut it. I miss you so much, Travis. I'm trying to keep it together, but it's hard. I will miss you until the day I die.
Mr and Mrs Shollenberger, you raised him well. Thank you for not only being good parents to Travis, but good parents to his friends as well. You always made me feel welcome and at home. I think this is another one of those things where words can't express my appreciation to you both. Thank you. I know I speak for the rest of Travis' friends when I say we are always just a phone call or email away if you ever want to talk, about Travis or even just to catch up.
p.s. Travis, I think Matt and I going to find and burn that Bashores t-shirt hahaha

I met Travis about 6 years ago at KU. I was his SSC in Beck Hall and he was one of my DR's. He was one of my favorites. I loved how he was always making us laugh and always making us smile, he had such a wonderful personality. I loved those times that my husband and I would go to Austin's and he was our waiter, it made me so happy to see him. I love him and will truly miss him.
Heaven has another angel watching over us.
Miss you Travis. Love, Nettie

Travis was such a great person to be around. He will be missed dearly!! I not only knew Travis from CW, but I also knew him as a good friend, the son of my grandfathers neighbor, and the fun loving guy who came in to get his hair cut. I will miss his sense of humor, his willingness to help others and his warm smile.
Someone once told me that "it's not what you take with you when you leave this world, but what you leave when your gone!!" Travis has left a strong inprint on this earth and will be remembered dearly for it!! Good bless you in the tramatic time and my deepest sympathy goes out to all those effected!!

Wow... I don't know where to begin. Travis and I met when we were in Jr. High. My family moved away to FL after 8th grade, but little did I know that our paths would cross once more. I moved back to PA in 2000, and upon finishing high school I decided to attend Kutztown University where I ran into Travis again. We again became fast friends. We spent lots of time together doing all kinds of things, but no matter what we were doing, we were always laughing! Travis had such a great laugh! He helped me in more ways than he will ever know.
Travis- You are such an amazing person, you will be missed. Your memory will be cherished forever!
I love you, and look forward to the day we meet again.
To family and friends- take comfort in the good memories that you have, and know that you will be together again. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. If there is anything that I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.
All my love,
Cindy Madary

My name is Cindy Madary and I worked with Travis at Manning. I could go on and on about what a great guy he was but we all already know that. We became really close because we lived near each other and when his car was in the shop I gave him a ride everyday one particular week. One of those days will stick with me forever. I remember driving and I started to cry to him as I had found out my husband was being deployed to Iraq and that I was scared. He listened in shock and so patiently. When I pulled up to drop him off he came to the driver's side and insisted I get out of the car. He gave me the biggest hug and told me I was stronger than I knew and I will get though this. Since that day I have done well with this deployment, but I will not do well without his friendship. His friendship was sincere and I enjoyed our heart to hearts. He was so mature and held great conversation. I will miss his smile and laugh, but what I will miss the most is him teasing me that I was married and my fun days were over. As for the family my heart goes out to all of you and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I think the one thing that stands out in my mind when I think of Travis was his willingness to give a friend a hug. Whether he was goofing around or if it was really needed it always struck me how much he cared for each and everyone of his friends.
Travis, I want you know that I always appreciated that. I love you and I will remember you always.

When news of this reached me, words cannot describe the utter sorrow that overcame me. Travis and I lived together for over 3 years and from the time I met him, I considered him the closest thing I've ever had to a brother. The past few days have had a bitter sweet feel to them as I go between deep pits of sadness to the overwhelming joy of remembering who Travis was. Travis helped shape who I am today and for that, along with the years of happiness he gave my life, I will continue to keep his heart and soul as close to mine as one could. To Karen and Dave, I only wish to take your pain and bear it for you, for the two of you have always been like parents to me. I offer my prayers and condolences through these rough times, as well as the memories that Travis created for me. Know that through everything, Travis' smile never dulled and the greatest gift he ever gave was always being true to himself.

Travis was always laughing about something. What I remember about him is that he would always listen to you and offer his own take on the matter. If it was something that upset you he'd leave you laughing over it. Helping you move on. I am glad I had the chance to know and spend time with Travis. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

The one thing I will never forget is the sound of your laugh & your smile... it's something that I will truly miss. They were both one of a kind. Your presents was one that never went un-noticed! You were just such a great guy who didn't deserve this. It's just not fair that you were taken from us so soon. I'll never understand why. There will always be that gap now, apart of our wide group of friends. Nothing will ever be able to fill it. All I know is that I will forever cherish the memories of you that I have and I'll always keep you in my heart. I <3 you Travis!
To Travis's family, please know that all my love and prayers are going out to you. Thank you for bringing such a wonderful person into this world. He is going to be missed so much by all of us!!!

I met Travis when I started at Manning Materials 2 years ago. We hit it off right off the bat. We would tell eachother everything. I could talk to him about anything. I am going to miss him soo much! Especially that goofy laugh he had. There is so many memories to share in such a short time period but I'm glad he was in my life. He would brighten it in so many ways. I know God needed him in more ways then us. As Billy Joel would say, "Only the good die young". I'm so sorry for your loss. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.

I worked with Travis and knew him for such a short time. He was always laughing at me because I couldn't remember Keith's name (always called him Kevin - or is it Kevin?)
Karen, I lost my son 17 years ago when he was 13 due to an illness. It doesn't matter whether it is sudden or you have time to get prepared, you now have done the hardest thing to do in life (there is nothing harder) - lose a child. Please know that my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
