Wally Ely

Wally Ely (Wallace Robert Ely) died

August 7th at age 81. He was a writer,

historian, marketer and broadcaster.

Wally was a member of St.John's

Lutheran Church in Allentown and served many volunteer and Vestry positions.

Wally was married to Suzanne--his wife and caregiver. Suzanne and Wally celebrated 60 years of marriage in June 2018.

Wally's three children blessed him with four grandsons: daughter, Dr. Linda Wieder, and her husband, Charles, of St. Michaels, Md., are the parents of Timothy and Michael; son, David Ely, of Whitehall, Pa., is the father of Richard, husband of Michelle, and step-father of Jenna Edwards; Jenna's children are Wally's step-great-grandchildren, Ariel and Juliana; son, Scott Ely, and wife, Susan, of

Fairview, Pa., are parents of Nicholas.

Wally worked at several banks before retiring. In

retirement he worked for Outten Chevrolet and RCN-TV for 20 years. He was active in several Lutheran Church Synod and community organizations. The WK&S Railroad at Kempton was Wally's favorite avocation. Loyal Phillies fan.
