Dear Bonita, Janice, Nancy, and families,
We are so saddened to hear the new about the loss of your father. He was a great man and lived his life to the fullest. I spent the weekend with my Mom Sylvia and she has been devastated by his passing. I know from my conversations with her that she idolized her brother and they kept in touch with visits, phone calls, and many lengthy handwritten letters to each other over their many years. They seemed to have so much in common with their energy and love of outdoors and life in general. I was able to get online and show our Mom your Dad's obituary and photos of the funeral home and cemetery. This seemed to comfort her even though she realizes she is now the last member of their immediate family. My brothers and I would have found a way for her to attend her brother's service but her body is weakened and frail. Please know that our thoughts and prayers will be with you during the service and in the days ahead. If there is any way that you could send her a program of the service I know she would appreciate it. Our Mom wanted to send flowers so they should be delivered to Bonita's house today. With our heartfelt sympathy, Cheryl, Werner,Bill, and Sylvia

My sincere condolences to the Werner family. Warren was an exceptional man. I met him in October 1968 when he was reviewing the state inspection records at Bob Alspach's Mobil service station (now a McDonalds) in Sinking Spring, PA. We connected because we shared the same last name. Many questions and lots of laughter followed. I lost track of Warren when I moved to Annville, PA, in 1973. I appreciated his candor and directness; he earned my respect as a Pennsylvania State Trooper and as man. I am truly sorry for your loss.
