Wayne Wetzel Obituary


Wayne M. Wetzel, 22, of Mohrsville,

tragically passed away on Tuesday,

October 18th.

Born in Reading, he is survived by his

father, Curtis Wetzel, married to Beverly,

of Wrightsville, and his mother, Kristin

(Wilbert) Durbec, married to Lou, of Mohrsville.

Wayne was a 2012 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He then graduated from York Technical Institute for small motors and was Valedictorian of his class of 2014.

He was employed by Schaeffer Harley Davidson in

Orwigsburg as a motorcycle repair technician.

Wayne was a gifted artist, designing his own motorcycle helmet. He was a Mopar Enthusiast. He loved traveling to the beach.

He was kindhearted and lovable with a great sense

of humor but, most of all, he loved his family dearly.

Additional survivors include his sisters, Ginger Houck,

of Reading, and Dannielle Peters, widow of Shawn Peters Sr., of Leesport; a step-brother, Tim Hoy, and wife, Heather, of Manchester, Md.; and a step-sister, Tabitha Durbec,

of Reading.

His maternal grandmother, Beverly Connor, and

husband, Thomas, of Fleetwood, and his maternal

grandfather, Jack Wilbert, and wife, Judy, of Dundee, N.Y. Also, grandparents, Margaret Miller, of Manchester, Md., and Millie Durbec, of Laureldale.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Bob and Jane Wetzel.

Wayne has three aunts: Diane Davis and husband,

Ronald, of Valrico, Fla., Julie Hepner and husband, Ray,

of Hamburg, and Cindy Michael and husband, Chester,

of Fredericksburg, Pa. Also, an uncle, Robert Wetzel, and wife, Gini, of Womelsdorf.

Wayne has several nieces and nephews including

Madison and Jordan Houck, Rebecca and Shawn Jr. Peters and Abby, Matthew and Zachary Hoy.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22nd, at 11 a.m. in the Milkins Giles Funeral Home, Inc., 4914 Kutztown Rd., Temple, with Rev. Andrea Haldeman

officiating. A viewing will be held on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gift of Life Donor Program, 410 N. Third St.,

Philadelphia, PA 19123.
