William Orr Obituary

William P. Orr, of Easton, PA, came face to face with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, September 12, 2021. He was 83. “Bill,” as he was fondly known to friends and family, was born on February 11, 1938 to Raymond and Ruth (Tischler) Orr of Reading, PA. His sister, Patricia Kern, went home to be with the Lord in 2016. Three years after graduating from Kutztown University Bill married his summer camp sweetheart, Sara-Jane “Susie” Gerhard. They were married for 58 years. Bill taught biology at Wilson School District, West Lawn PA and was a Christian high school principal before entering the ministry. In this capacity, Bill was an Associate Pastor at Clinton Baptist Church of Clinton, NJ, and then served as Senior Pastor at Living Word Fellowship of Washington, NJ, until his retirement in 2004. Bill also established S.C.O.T. Ltd., which sent short-term missionaries to his beloved Scotland. Bill is survived by Susie, his brother Gary Orr and his wife Gail, of Wyomissing, PA; sons, Peter and Matthew Orr, and their wives Andrea and Michelle; grandsons, Scott, Derek, Garrett and his wife Kerry, Benjamin and his wife Elisabeth, and Nathan; and by his beloved nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at First Baptist Church Allentown, 1808 N. 19th St, Allentown PA 18104, followed by fellowship and refreshments. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Baptist Church Allentown with “Bill Orr Memorial Fund” on the memo line. Funds will be used exclusively for missions.

Dear Sara,
My deepest sympathy and prayers for your comfort during this difficult time. Bill was such a nice human being and you both made such a great, loving, caring couple. I was honored knowing him.

John 4:14
But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up to everlasting life.

Many hugs. Until we met again.
I love you
