His wife of 39 years, Jan L. (Behney) Seigfried, died in 1986.
Born in Rehrersburg, he was a son of the late Edgar M. and Jenny (Schoener) Seigfried, who resided in Host, Tulpehocken Township.
Seigfried was a 1947 graduate of Womelsdorf High School.
He was a self-employed truck driver and a supervisor for the former Caron Spinning Mill, Robesonia. He worked as an outside serviceman for Textile Machine Works, Wyomissing, and retired in 1990 from North American Refractories, Newmanstown.
He was a longtime member of the board of directors of Grundsow Lodge No. 12.
Surviving are a son, Bruce W., husband of Hetty (Swartz), State College; and two daughters, Sandra L., wife of Burl Werner, Sinking Spring, and Cheryl A., wife of Steve Eisenhard, Kempton.
Also surviving are a brother, Neil Seigfried, Richland, and a sister, Mildred “Pat” Holzman, Wernersville.
There also are five grandchildren: Brian Werner, husband of Daneen (Gehrke), and Jeff Werner, husband of Nicole (Long), of Wernersville; Katey (Seigfried), wife of David Wisniewski, Beavercreek, Ohio; Sara (Seigfried), wife of Christopher Bourne, Spruce Creek, Pa.; and Emily Seigfried, State College; and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Colin.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Russel Seigfried and Edgar “Junior” Seigfried.
Services will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in Lamm & Witman Funeral Home Inc., Wernersville. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran & Reformed Cemetery, Womelsdorf.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 498 Bellevue Ave., Reading, PA 19605 and/or Berks Visiting Nurse Hospice, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, PA 19610.
