Fr. Dan was the kindest person I've ever known in my life. I was a student of his in 9th grade (1978) religion class at Chaminade. Just a kind soul who really cared and wanted students to search their souls . Later in life I spent some time with Fr. Dan at his favorite restaurant...Steak and Ale in Hollywood, FL. where we would discuss God, the Sacrament and other religions (I was curious). Father Dan always brought me back Home. We became such good friends. I miss you brother. I know you are in a great place serving God. I miss you!

Father Dan was an inspiration to me as I struggled with faith. We met several times in my adult life where we would celebrate at Steak and Ale in Hollywood FL (Father Dan loved some steak). He would alway offer Communion and Confession in this deep soul, which I always accepted and so deeply needed. I will never forget the positive impact he had on my life.

Father Dan was the man as I used to say when I was a student at Chaminade. He really made me grow up from a pain in the neck to a devoted man. Since I have not lived in Florida for many years, I did not hear about his calling back to the Lord until now. I will never forget hearing his voice calling: "Douglas" in the hallways and even the day I left Miami for boot camp for the US Marine Corps. How did he know things that his former students were up to was beyond me. Father Dan is the Man, and he is Forever in my soul, that he helped save back high school. Peace be with you, Father Dan.

You were the best preacher of the love of God of anyone. From you I learned that God was our dad, and we truly his children that he longed to hug every day. I know you are walking with Jesus as I write this. You were a blessing to my entire family. Please hug my mom (Marie) and my dad (Dick) and my brothers Chris and Tracy when you see them.

Sincere sympathy from your family in county Armagh Ireland. You impressed us on your visits with your gentleness and sincerity. On my only visit to Hollywood, my abiding memory is of being privileged to attend a mass at our lady of the smile shrine when you concelebrated with my brother Fr Dermot Mc Neice OSM . It was evident how much you were revered by your local community. Rest in peace.

I want to thank Fr. Dan Doyle for his help years ago when my cousin and I were looking for a place to stay for the Eucharistic Congress in Philadelphia in 1976, Fr. Dan Doyle set it up for us to stay at the Marianist Center in Chester, Pennsylvania under the watchful eye of Fr. Cassidy. It was my mother who asked at a prayer meeting that Fr. Doyle had once a week at chaminade. Fr. Dan Doyle stepped forward and said he would help us and I will be forever greatful for his great kindness and caring.

34 years ago you picked up the pieces of my 14 year old broken soul. In your kind, loving way you put me back together and taught me how to love myself because God loved me. Today I am a father of three wonderful children and a teacher at an all girls catholic academy in the Philadelphia suburbs. I am the man I am because of you. My life's work has become a legacy of the gift of the Marianist spirit you instilled me.
