James DeVries Obituary

Big Jim left us here to join all of our perfect angels Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the young age of 54. He leaves us with four beautiful children, James H., Michael and Katie DeVries and EJ Verdugo to cherish. He also leaves behind his brother, Andrew (Gwen) DeVries of San Jose and sister, Nancy Adams of Vacaville.
James lived in Lake County 25 for years, working under his own business, North Shore Drywall. He enjoyed his time here with what he was best at, working hard, building his hot rod and Harley and keeping his old tan pick-up on the road.
He will be remembered with every step his loved ones take and every inch they grow.
James will be laid to rest at Kelseyville Cemetery, close to his beloved brother, Ed DeVries.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 5, for family and close friends.
The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and support.
The DeVries family has entrusted the care of their loved one to Chapel of the Lakes Mortuary, Lakeport 263-0357.

Our deepest condolences to Big Jim's family. He was a great guy. I always think of him when decorating the archway he came up with for our family when we remodeled. Always nice to wave at that truck that you could tell from a mile away was carrying Big Jim. RIP, ride the skies.

I also feel very fortunate to have seen "Big Jim just a few weeks ago.
I have known him for over 20 years and whenever we would cross paths we always wound up talking about the same subject every time and I feel it is important to share this with his family.
He would always get this "sparkle in his eyes" and his "face would light up" as he spoke about his kids. It was always so obvious just how proud he was and how important you all were to him. He always jumped at the chance to brag about his kids and that is a very special thing you should always remember.

Please know that you are all in my heart and prayers...

Our prayers go out to Big Jim's family. He will be deeply missed by so many people. We are thankful that we knew him. Our grandchildren knew him as Santa Claus and they always loved to give him ice cream sandwhiches when he and his crew were working at our house. Glenn & Anita Bridges(Kelseyville)
