Julian Romero Obituary

Julian Eliazar Romero, age 72, resident of Clearlake for the past 11 years, passed away on Dec. 2, 2006, at Redbud Hospital. Julian was born March 23, 1934, in San Luis, Colo., to Margarito Romero and Antonia Guadalupe Romero, both preceded him in death.

Julian was raised in San Luis until he joined the Marines in 1952; proudly serving his country for four years; and lived majority of his life in Sonoma and Clearlake.

His wife of over 36 years, Gerry Romero, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Gina Romero; beloved grandson, Vincent Romero De La Cruz; and beloved grandson Dominick Romero, all of California.

Julian was raised in a family of 10 children, five boys and five girls. His brother, William Romero, preceded him in death in 1972; therefore, he is survived by eight siblings. These are sisters, Louisa Romero of Pueblo, Colo., Irma Montoya of Albuquerque, N.M., Carmen Medina and husband, Tony Medina of Denver, Colo., Virginia Gonzales and husband Gilbert Gonzales of Los Angeles, and Betty Romero of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brothers, Armando Romero of Pueblo, Colo., Herbert Romero of San Luis, Colo., and Paul Romero and his wife Rebecca of Pueblo, Colo. He is also survived by 33 nieces and nephews mostly all living in Colorado.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of a loving person who gave his all to raise his grandson, help his daughter, and love every person he met. He often freely gave the shirt off his back and more to help the needy.

A service and viewing are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Jones & Lewis Memorial Chapel, in Lower Lake; cremation follows; and ashes of Julian and Gerry will be given to Marines for full military honor and burial at sea.

The family sincerely thanks all his wonderful friends and all their support and especially Sheila Brinley, since she is the family's angel.
