Andrew Falk Obituary

CHESHIRE - Andrew Falk, 30, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at his home.

Andrew was born Sept. 17, 1986, in New Haven, the son of Donald A. Falk and Karen (Wagner) Longyear. He was a lifelong Cheshire resident where he graduated from Cheshire High School class of 2004. He was employed for a number of years with Shop Rite in Wallingford, the Wallingford West Side YMCA, Ann Taylor Loft, and most recently with Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield in Wallingford where Andrew's co-workers appreciated the "Snack Shack" that he operated. Andrew volunteered for the past 10 years with the St. Thomas Becket Social Action Ministry, helping with monthly food collection, annual Advent Giving Tree, toy drive, and annual clothing collection. Andrew also volunteered with Wreaths Across America this past December accompanying his family to Arlington National Cemetery. Andrew was a fun-loving person with a smile and laugh that endeared him to everyone who knew him. He enjoyed shopping and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved New York City, N.Y., and Cher, and was known to all as a generous, witty and considerate person. He is also remembered for the special eulogy he gave for his grandfather, Charles Falk. Andrew's final resting place will be beside his beloved grandparents.

Besides his father of Cheshire and his mother of Florida, Andrew is survived by his sister, Jennifer Daly, of Cheshire; his brothers, Jeffrey Falk, of Cheshire, and Stephen Falk, of Southington; his cherished nieces, Hayley, Alexis, Payton, Brianne, and Sophie; his cherished nephews, Jack, Aiden, Brendan; as well as his cat, Pepe; and the family dog, Rommel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main St., to St. Thomas Becket Church for a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Cheshire Hillside Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contribution may be made to the Cheshire Food Pantry, 175 Sandbank Road, Cheshire, CT 06410 or to the A.S.P.C.A. 424 E. 92nd St., New York, NY 10128-6804. Andrew will be truly missed by many ... always willing to stop and help out. He took such pride in the "snack shop" and we all loved his sense of fashion and decor. I will miss our little conversations about the flowers at his desk and his friendly personality. My condolences to the family and friends who loved him.

I never met Andrew, but through the miracles of modern technology, I would say that he became a very close friend. I am so very broken hearted for the loss of a wonderful friend. He was, without a doubt, one of the most wonderful person that had crossed my path. To his family, I send love and hugs. I will be thinking of you. xo
