Aurea Rivera (Arce) Obituary

ST. PORT LUCIE, Fla. - Aurea (Helen) Rivera, 87, passed away after a short illness, on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017 in Port St. Lucie, Fla.

Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, on Feb. 15, 1930, she was the daughter of Luis and Catalina Arce.  She moved to New York City from Puerto Rico and eventually resided in Meriden for over 50 years.  She retired from International Silver Corp. (Eyelet Division, Wallingford) after 25 years and spent her last 12 years living in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Helen was an avid "Salsa" dancer and fantastic cook.  She was always the life of the party.  Her energy and passion will truly be missed!

She is survived by two sons, Victor M. Rivera Jr. (Lillian,) of Port Saint Lucie, Fla., and Luis R. Rivera (Irma,) of East Berlin; four grandchildren, Victor, Robert, Casandra, Gabriel; and a great-granddaughter, Anabella Rose; and many nieces and nephews.
