Carl Heller Obituary

Carl G. Heller, 92, a former longtime resident of Southington, died Jan. 25, 2009 at Highland Health Care in Cheshire.
Born in Southington on Oct. 27, 1916, he was the son of the late Frederick and Hermine (Bamberger) Heller. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the former Peck, Stow and Wilcox Co. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church and was the church sexton for many years. He was an avid golfer and was a member of the Southington Country Club. He enjoyed gardening and was a member and former president of the Mountain Grove Pool Club for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred (Haney) Heller; a daughter, Leslie Roach and her husband Martin, of Cheshire; a grandson, Jason Shawn Heller; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first two wives, Althea Holcomb Heller and Irma Humpage Heller; a son, Brian Heller; and eight brothers and sisters.
Services were held Jan. 28, 2009 at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, Southington. Burial was at South End Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 279 New Britain Ave., Kensington, CT 06037.
