Deborah Sokol Obituary
She was born August 28, 1970, and lived a life that inspired others to be the best versions of themselves, to give unselfishly, to work hard, to give things that special touch, to think about others, to laugh more, to compliment someone, to stay strong in times of adversity, and to stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. She said that if she was able to do that, then despite not being physically here, she will never be forgotten.

I didn't know Debbie but I was so moved by her writings to her loved ones. I had been looking for someone online and happened to scroll past the first line which caught my attention. I thought, Wow, she had to have been an exceptional wife, mom, friend and daughter. It was an amazing and an oh so strong way to convey her last thoughts and feelings. You are All so truly Blessed by knowing her. I wish that I was as fortunate. If you see a rock painted pink with a heart in the center on her headstone, know that this is from me to Debbie. I have held onto it for nearly a year and noticed her stone is finally in place. It took a long time, I wished it not, but know she has touched a stranger as well.

Jason and children, it's hard to express my feelings as I too morn the loss of Debby. As you well know that my Debby lost her battle with cancer almost 5 years ago. We will never forget but be assured that joyful days are ahead and we will be reunited with our loved ones in the future, this is the Lord's promise. I didn't know Deborah and haven't seen Jason in a long time. I know the terms funeral and celebration of life and after reading her obituary, hers was a life to be celebrated. Much love was shared in this family. Cherish the memories and each other.

Debbie, we’ve know each other for a very long time. We didn’t often see one another but when we did, you were always the sweet person I knew as a kid. Our fierce, funny friend! I always felt we should all write our own obits while living our lives so it reads like a journal and not a mere bio. Forever updating the highlights of our joys. And you did that! Focusing on all that mattered in your life. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten. Debbie, I was your Physical therapist at your home only two times but you left an indelible mark on my heart. Your strong will and love of family was very evident and their love and commitment to you was also very evident. I would’ve loved to have been able to get to know you and your family better but heaven has definitely gained an angel. Blessings to you and your family.
