Donald Parker Obituary

AUSTIN, Texas - Donald Carroll Parker, age 76, of Austin, Texas and formerly Bridgeport, died Monday, May 12, 2008.

He was the son of the late Margaret Carroll Parker and Ernest W. Parker. Born in Fairfield, July 22, 1932, Don served in the U.S. Air Force and was a Korean War veteran.

Before moving to Texas in 1991, Don worked at Avco Lycoming (Textron) for over 35 years, as well as Ness Security Systems. While in Texas, Don worked for Securitas Security at the Village of The Hills for 15 years.

Don was predeceased by his brother, Ernest J. Parker. He is survived by his children, Donald F. Parker and his wife, Jodi of Meriden, Kevin Parker of Vermont, Cathleen Owen and her husband, Austin of Bridgeport and Sean Parker of Southington; his grandchildren, Julieann, Brandon and Tyler Owen, Marissa, Emilie, Rebecca, Tamie and Breandan Parker; two great-grandchildren, Dawson and Abigal Parker; very special friends, Carl and Faye Smith and Don Flemmings of Austin, Texas.

A heartfelt thank you to Sylvia Ortiz, Aida Lara, Cherree Bednar, Cindy Bell and Geralyn Guzman as well as the entire staff at the Summit at Lakeway. A special thank you to Jim Somers and Dianne Thompson and the residents of the Village of The Hills for their support and prayers.

Don was a friend of Bill Wilson. Don's family will be available to greet family and friends at St. Andrew Church, 435 Anton Street, Bridgeport at 10:30 a.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 16.
