Doris Williams Obituary

WOONSOCKET, R.I. - Doris S. Williams, 95, formerly of Fairmount St., died peacefully on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. She was the wife of the late Emmett F. Williams.

Born in Woonsocket, R.I., a daughter of the late John B. and Mary D. (Trudeau) Allen, she previously lived in Woonsocket, R.I. Meriden, Conn., and Sun City, Fla.
Mrs. Williams was a school teacher in the Meriden Public Schools for many years before retiring on June 30, 1977. Doris received a bachelor's degree from the Rhode Island College of Education and a master's degree in Education from Southern Connecticut State College on Jan. 19, 1973.

She is survived by two sons, Jerome F. Williams of Barrington, Mass., and Alan E. Williams of Martinsville, Ind.; two daughters, Susan D. Robertson of Ruskin, Fla., and Patricia M. Williams of St. Louis, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, Peter Williams, Greg Williams, Patrick Williams, Jennifer Call, James Robertson, Jason Robertson, Christopher Williams, Lauren Williams, Andrew Marcella and Kristina Marcella; two sisters, Lillian Pennington of North Smithfield and Wilma Camarro of Cape Coral, Fla.; and four great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Louise Bosworth and Irene Hall.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, Oct. 20 from the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside at 8:45 a.m. with a Mass of Christian burial in St. Luke Church, Washington Road, Barrington at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Woonsocket, R.I. Calling hours are Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
