Edward Heck Obituary
Born Dec. 9, 1948 in Southington, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Jessie (Miller) Heck. Eddie joined the Marines when he was 17 years old and proudly served in the Vietnam War. He lived in Bradenton, Fla. for many years with his beloved girlfriend, Susan Sullivan, who predeceased him in 2003; Eddie then relocated back to Meriden. He loved his country, his friends and his children. Eddie especially enjoyed giving rides on his wheelchair to his great-niece and nephew, Jessie and Matthew Smith. His first love was country music and playing his guitar. Eddie also enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his sister, Karen Kaczenski, of Meriden; his children, Tammi and Brian; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Gary R. Heck.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, March 19, at the Smith-Ruzzo Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, from 9 until 10 a.m. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Karen & family, you are in my prayers,Eddie was a good friend. so many memories with Roger & Eddie. I have pictures with Eddie playing his guitar at our parties. those were good times.

I would like to express my sympathy to Karen and family. I knew Eddie most of my life and 25 years ago he was my best man when I got married. We kept in touch by phone. He enjoyed life and living. I'll always remember him as a good and generous friend. Rest in peace Ed.
