WALLINGFORD - Edward "Jake" Jacobowitz, 59, of Wallingford, lost his short battle with cancer Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family. Having been together since they were 15, he was the beloved husband of Margo Soltesz Jacobowitz.

He was born in Meriden Oct. 8, 1955, a son of the late Paul and Lois Rogers Jacobowitz. He was an Attendant II for the Town of Wallingford Sewer Department for 34 years. Edward loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, dirt bikes and volleyball.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his twin sons, Keith Jacobowitz, of Waterford and Joe Jacobowitz and his wife, Heather, of Meriden; and his sister, Marilyn Lynes and her husband, Bobby, of Meriden. He was predeceased by his brother, Paul Jacobowitz Jr.

His family will receive relatives and friends in The Yalesville Funeral Home, 386 Main St., in the Yalesville section of Wallingford on Friday, June 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. Jake's family requests a casual dress code at visitation. T-shirts, jeans and work clothes are encouraged.

I was very disheartened today to hear of Jakes passing. I will always think of Jake, Margo, Kieth, and Joe as an extended part of my family. I only wish I had known sooner so I could have been there in person to pay my respects to such a great man, father, husband, and friend!

Rest in peace my dear brother! You are no longer in pain and you can now walk in the heavenly woods where the fish are swimming and the deer run free. God took your hand and brought you home where Mom and Whitey waited. I will treasure our memories of growing up together. You were a wonderful husband and father and friend to all who knew you. Margo, Keith, Joe and Heather he loved all of you so much and was so very proud of his boys. You will be the legacy he leaves behind and we will love you and be here for you always. Walk Tall now Ed! I love you, Mare
