Edwin Febles Obituary
Edwin was born in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Feb. 28, 1959, a son of Santos Febles and Maria Agosto Febles, and had been a Meriden resident for many years. He had been employed as an energy auditor at the Human Resources Agency and ABCD Agency. A well-known softball legend, Edwin was a 30-year member of the MASA Softball League in Meriden. He was a true fan of the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed spending time at the beach with his family.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Justin A. Febles and Valentina L. Febles; his sister, Migdalia Febles and husband, Carlos Rodriguez; Harvey Febles and wife, Sandra; Davis Febles and wife, Evelyn; and O'Danny's Febles and wife, Doris; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Arianna C. Febles; and is also survived by his pets, which he loved, his dogs, Shabet and Oria; and his cat, Gizmo.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Wednesday, April 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated, Thursday, April 9, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church in Meriden. (Those attending the Mass are asked to meet directly at church.) Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be made to his family, to establish an education fund for his children.

It is with great sadness that I read this news, my deepest condolences to the family. I have always cherished the innocence of our early teen youth experiences of humble yet happy life in growing up with sports as the neighborhood theme.
In the early 60's summers and fall, my brother Lee and Edwin would team up against Harvey and I in hundreds of games of Wiffle ball and 2 on 2 basketball.
Edwin was always a very fair and equitable player and in later years would become a well liked softball coach and leading teammate.
Thanks for the memories and life lessons, they have never been forgotten.
