Everett Hoyt Bailey

Everett Hoyt Bailey, 90, of Wallingford, died surrounded by his loving family at Yale New Haven Hospital on Thursday, November 4, 2021. He was the loving husband of Lorraine (Nuzzo) Bailey. He was born in New Haven, January 3, 1931, to the late Everett Palmer Bailey and Edna (Clough) Bailey. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving on the USS Brownson. He worked as a commercial electrician at Koppers Coke until their closing in 1967 and was then employed by Tilcon of North Branford until his retirement in 1993. Everett was a member of the V.F.W and active parishioner of St. John's Episcopal Church in Yalesville. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, watching football, riding his lawn mower and spending time outdoors. He was a loyal New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. Everett loved his children and enjoyed spending time with them at their respective summer homes. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Lorraine; his daughter Elaine McDunnah and her husband Jeffery McDunnah; his son, Mark Bailey and his wife Lynn (Ouellette) Bailey; his grandchildren, Jacqueline McDunnah, Jeannette McDunnah, Michelle (Bailey) Frear (Kevin), and Christopher Bailey (Lisa); his great grandchild, Luke Frear; his sister, Anna Fiengo; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan (Bailey) Onofrio. Everett's family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of of the Yale Neuro Science I.C.U. for the excellent care they provided. His family will receive relatives and friends at The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Saturday, Nov. 20th from 10 am to 12 pm. A funeral service with military honors will be held at the funeral home immediately following the receiving hours. Interment will be conducted by the U.S. Navy at sea.
