Gregory John Frederick, 58, husband of Cheri-Ann Frederick, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 3, 2023. After beating Multiple Myeloma in 2012, he succumbed to stomach cancer. Greg fought incredibly hard and never gave up right to the end.

Besides his wife, Greg is survived by his parents JoAn Frederick and James Frederick (Debbie Frederick). His sisters Lori, (Dawn) Susan and nephews Ethan and Brody Frederick.

His daughter Jennifer (Artie), grandson Jase and his son Kyle (Bianca) and his fur babies Zoe and Bella. His step children Justin (Kiely), Josh, Brooke and Jake Fournier and grandson Theodore. His mother in law and father in law Darlene and Don Earley. His aunts and uncle Judy Bennett, Audrey Hollman and George and Sandy Frederick and numerous cousins.

Greg was predeceased by his infant sister Jennifer and his grandparents John and Mildred Sullivan and Francis and Mildred Frederick.

Born on October 26, 1965, Greg was a 1983 graduate of Platt High School where he was captain of the baseball team, where he was known as "Freddie". He was a corrections officer for the state of CT, worked for Guida's Dairy and for the past several years worked at a waste management company.

Greg loved his sports, playing baseball from the age of 8 into his 50's. He also coached baseball for several years for Cheshire Youth Baseball League. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan and he continued playing hockey into adulthood. Greg also loved golf, loved to cook, loved his dogs and his Jack Daniels.

The family would like to thank Dr. Fumo and staff for their care and compassion over the years.

OUCH! This is the first I've heard of this. Rest peacefully, Captain! Greg was the captain of my Platt baseball team in my freshman year, 1982. I believe he was the only 83 graduate on that team. He, Ernie Carr, Jeff Massicotte, Joe Bruno, Bob Benjamin, Mike Clancy and Jimmy Seibert were all great teammates and people I respected and looked up to. He was always helpful and a great leader. I haven't played with many catchers who kept the ball in front of him like Freddie did. He had a great quick release to throw runners out as well. He had to get the ball out quickly with those big left handed curve balls coming at him from Bruno and Seib. Stay cool, Greg! Until we meet again, Christopher Cook.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Freddie. We had so much fun skating at Hubbard Park. He was a great friend and gentle soul. We have many fond memories. Love to you all.
