Harvey J. Wright, 89, of Meriden passed away at Connecticut Baptist Home on Monday, May 27, 2024. He was the loving husband of Sharon (Palmer) Wright. Born on September 16, 1934, he was the son of the late George and Annie (King) Wright.
Harvey served in the U.S. Navy during the Koren War. He was employed by GR Cummings and was a member of Roofers Local #9 for 50 years, After he retired, he was employed by the Town of Wallingford.
Harvey loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, working on puzzles, feeding, and watching the birds. He also enjoyed playing and teaching others how to play cribbage while drinking many cups of coffee.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Pamela Nettleton (Jim); his daughter-in-law, Heather Wright; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Wright (Jason Hernandez), Conner Nettleton and Calli Nettleton; two great-grandchildren, Kaylani Hernandez and Nathaniel Hernandez and his sister, Patricia Urbanski. He was predeceased by his son, John, his sister Shirley Kazlor and his two brothers, Richard and George.
Harvey's family would like to thank everyone at Connecticut Baptist Home for taking excellent care of him while he resided there.
Family and friends are invited to attended calling hours on Thursday, May 30th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. The funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Sister Georgeann Vumbaco officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
