Jacqueline Nye

WALLINGFORD - Jacqueline Chamberland Nye, of Wallingford, died Tuesday, May 30, 2016, at Masonicare Health Center. She was the loving wife of the late James H. Nye Sr.

She was born in St. Agatha, Maine, March 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Oliver and Maria (Bosse) Chamberland. She had been employed by the Wallingford Board of Education, Pratt & Whitney Aircraft and the Record Journal until her retirement. Jackie was a loving devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed every moment spent with her family. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hiking. She tended to her flower gardens with a green thumb. Jackie relished reading, was an avid crossword puzzler, a whiz at Jeopardy and an expert seamstress.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Daigle, of Meriden, Carole Daigle, of Wallingford, Deborah Daigle and Cynthia Daigle, both of Meriden, and Laurie LaVoie and her husband, Jay, of Wallingford, and their sons, Austin, Ryan and Dylan LaVoie; her sister, Marie Claire Cormier; her brother, Robert F. Chamberland; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers; and three sisters.

Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Saturday June 4, from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 5 p.m. Interment will be private. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston MA 02241-7005.
