Joseph Geruch Obituary

Joseph M. Geruch Jr.
Joseph M. Geruch Jr., 72, peacefully passed away on July 8th, 2024, after courageously fighting pancreatic cancer for over 14 months. He is survived by his three daughters, Shelly Thompson and her husband Tom of Higganum, Sherry Mucik and her fiancé Michael D'Aresta of Higganum, and Amanda Newland and her husband Richard of Southington, grandchildren, Emily and Ryan Thompson, Nicholas Boynton, and Trip and Jake Newland. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Joe, or as he was known to many in his family as Poppy, was known for his great sense of humor and easy-going personality. He loved to spend all day tinkering in the yard or the garage.
Joe was predeceased by the love of his life, Carol. Joe and Carol loved working on crossword puzzles, playing Setback, being with family, and vacationing in Aruba. Comfort is found in knowing that Carol was waiting for Joe and they are together again doing the things they loved!
A joint service for Joseph and Carol was held on Saturday, July 13th, at 10:30 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Friends gathered prior to the service from 10 to 10:30 a.m. To share memories, photo or express condolences online, please visit www.biegafuneralhome.com
