I worked with Joe in NYC when he came to our firm after September 11th. Joe was a key part in helping us rebuild our group. His hard work and dedication along with his humor, compassion and overall personality was exactly what was needed. A real gentle, respectful man. He was always quick with a story and had a great perspective on life. There are many stories which I will always remember. It was a pleasure working with him and even more so, getting to know him as a friend. He will be missed. My condolences to your family.

Words can not express how deeply saddened I am for your loss! May loving memories comfort you in your time of sorrow. I truly enjoyed the times I spent caring for the boys while you were going to school.
We had lots of fun and they made me laugh! The boys are now together again....

Dear Scavone and Bombria family,

Joe's neighbors in Los Robles Tallahassee (and I am one) already miss Joe. We miss his smile. We miss his charming, upbeat, personality. We miss Joe. We miss seeing him and his dog, Dudley, whom he loved. We will have a celebration for Joe in our Park next week and Dudley will be there. We are heartbroken. We are very sad. As you must be, as all must be. When someone you know dies, you don't remember their occupation, you don't remember their social status, none of that. You remember how that person made you feel. Joe made us feel happy. He had that way about him. He was a person you wanted to be around. Joe was genuine. Joe was positive. Joe was kind. These three traits are rare. But he embodied all. My greatest of sympathies.

I send heartfelt condolences to the Scavone and Bombria families. Joe's thoughtfulness and energy was special and will be missed. I remember how special his grandfather's military wings were to him which he asked for as a treasure after his grandfather's passing. May memories of Joe now give some comfort and continue his life in a different way.

Dear Scavone Family:

I have hundreds of wonderful memories of Joe. He was by far the most entertaining person I’ve ever worked with, and he never shied away from sharing his perspectives and knowledge with me. He was the type of guy who always asked how my kids were. He was at times brutally honest and had a heart of gold - a truly perfect friend. My family mourns with you, and we extend our heartfelt sympathy and prayers for comfort.

Mr & Mrs Scavone,
My wife & I are so sorry for your loss of Joe. I worked with him at FL Treasury and he truly was fun to be around daily. His humor & energy were abounding and he always had a unique perspective on things. He fought thru the adversities of the last couple of years and we were so happy when we heard of his new job in Jax. Not only would he be near the beach, but we have 2 daughters that live there and we anticipated connecting with him in the future.
Please take solace in the knowledge that he had many more friends who cared about him deeply. He's no longer in pain and I envision him running on the beach with Dudley for eternity without a care in the world. God bless you. Ken Gerzina
