Josephine Lawson Obituary

MERIDEN - Josephine Sumpter Lawson, 87, of the Curtis Home, was called to glory on Tuesday, May 26, 2009.

She was born Jan. 5, 1922, in Wilmington, N.C., to the late John and Emma Williams.

Mrs. Lawson leaves to cherish her memory, six children, Stanley L. Howell, Jr. and wife, Melinda Howell, Altone Alvarez and Victor Howell, Montrose Howell, Deborah Lawson and Carolyn Williams and husband, Robert Williams; two siblings, Roy Faison and Geraldine Williams;10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and dear friend, Delores Holley. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie Lawson.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Faith Center Church, 22 Crown St., Meriden, on Monday, June 1. Relatives and friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. A private burial will follow the services. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave. Meriden is in charge of the arrangements.

mother was a great lady she loved my dog minnie that was the pet therapy dog she always said she was her dog . She was very lucky to have such a giving wonderful family . she will be missed . love and prayers Holly Kopcza(hairdresser)
