Julia Bruno Obituary

Julia Bruno, 17, of Southington passed away as the result of a motor vehicle accident on Sunday, September 1, 2019 at the CT Children's Medical Center in Hartford. She was surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by her paternal grandmother Linda Barone and maternal grandparents, Raymond and Mary Thorn.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Dominic Church, 1050 Flanders Rd., Southington. (Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church). Calling hours will be Friday at the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Dear Family of this stunning young lady.
I'm a Mom from Old Saybrook who can't imagine
your grief. We all fear for our children's safety and health. To hear the news of Julia's
tragedy is beyond my comprehension and logic.
Please try to take one day at a time. Listen only to your heart as you try to go forward.
I will pray that somehow God will find you peace
and courage as you try to make sense of this.
Tears are healing. Let them flow. I will keep Julia in my heart and prayers.
Blessings to your family

Todd, Kathy and Jacob, I am so very sorry for your loss. Though I never met her in person, Julia was a beautiful girl whose light will shine on through the gift of life she gave to others. My heartfelt prayers of comfort and peace to you and all of Julia's family and friends in the tough days ahead.

Julia was a beautiful, funny, polite, hard working young lady. She was a student of mine both in middle school and in the 10th grade. At her after- school job at the Y, she took care of my daughter, Maisie. She had a gift with preschool kids. She always greeted me with a bright smile. I miss her already. Rest easy, sweet girl.

I am so very sorry for the passing of your beautiful daughter. I have never met her or your family but as a Mother and former owner of a childcare center wanted to share , that these young adults working with children hold such a precious gift of caring , joy , enthusiasm for others and life itself and in doing so shine a bit brighter and through that compassion experience life in a depth of richness that many older adults struggle to grasp. Her tribute written is full but please know each child she worked with, helped or simply smiled at was so gifted by her footprint left in this earthly journey. May your hearts be eased by the comfort of others as your acceptance begins. May the strength and love of God and family embrace you.

My 5 yo nephew had a great connection with Julia, when everyday after school she greeted him off the bus for the YMCA program. I only get to enjoy my nephew because a family like yours gave the gift of life through organ donation. Three years ago I had a heart transplant. Please know that I'm thinking of you and your family. May Julia's memory be a blessing.
