Kathryn Nora DePaulo Lynch

Kathryn Nora DePaulo Lynch, 95, of Durham, loving wife of Ronald M. Lynch Sr. for just shy of 51 years. Mom passed away peacefully into the arms of our Heavenly Father on October 7, 2025, at Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Middletown, where she had been receiving care. She was born in Meriden on January 5, 1930 daughter of the late Florence (Hennessey) and Dominic Sambone.
She resided in Meriden, CT for most of her life before retiring and snow-birding in Port Charlotte, Florida and finally settling down in Durham in her later years. Kathryn waitressed for many years and was last employed by Greenfield's Restaurant (Lyman Orchards) before her retirement in the early '90s. She was a parishioner of Notre Dame Church, Durham.
She lived a long and vibrant life. Her favorite hobbies were knitting, reading, baking, and gardening. She enjoyed playing cards and Rummikub. She was an active member of her church and volunteered her time in many ways, including working the tag sales, counting the offertory, baking for the bake sales, ladies craft group, etc... Kathryn, liked to remain very busy, always taking care of her grandchildren and family. She loved spending time with her daughter and granddaughter on the Cape yearly, for a "girls' week" she was always ready at a moment's notice to go bee-bopping with Kathy (tagging along for running errands or shopping). She enjoyed weekly Sunday dinners at her son Steve's house.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Lynch Sr.; her sons, Michael DePaulo Sr, and Stephen DePaulo (wife Lynne); and her daughter, Kathryn Yusza (husband John III); and her grandchildren, Michael DePaulo Jr, Kimberly (DePaulo) Gombar, Alan DePaulo Jr, Melissa (DePaulo) Smith, Caitlyn (DePaulo) Reyher, Meghan (DePaulo) Bartholomew, Kelly (DePaulo) Bonini, John IV, Anna, Faith and Nicole Yusza and Michele and Ashlee DePaulo, and Tina Williams. She was blessed with a whopping abundance of great grandchildren as well. She is also survived by nieces Diane, Gail and Beth, and her nephew Marc Masselli.
She is pre-deceased by her sister, Florence Masselli, her sons William (Billy) DePaulo and Alan DePaulo Sr. and daughter-in-law Patricia DePaulo.
Her family will receive relatives and friends in the Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street, Ext., Wallingford, on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 3 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Father Jan Swiderski. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask you to consider visiting with Ron or preparing a homemade meal/treat for him.
