Linda Mesite Obituary

Linda Rae Squire Mesite passed unexpectedly on July 20, 2023. She was born in Elkton, MD, to the late Samuel Squire and Margaret Squire Parker. She is preceded in death by her stepfather, Al Parker and her former husband, Joseph Mesite. She is survived by her partner of 25 years, Jerry Lagace. She is leaving behind her children, Lisa Mesite, Corinne Mesite and Joseph Mesite and his wife, Jennifer and three grandchildren, Jesse, Derek and Daryl. Linda was well known to the community through her involvement with the Elks Lodge, Polish Falcons, the Moose Lodge, the K Club and the Franco American Club. She leaves behind numerous friends from Jefferson Middle School and the Meriden community. She had a employment history that was varied beyond description. In the 1980's, Linda owned, operated and managed various cafes including Joey's Cafe, Hillside Cafe and the Recovery Room. Her final employment was as a home health aide. She was a devoted single parent who cherished her children and grandchildren. Her last words would be "In life, risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. Expose your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss to those risk nothing, do nothing, have nothing. A person who risks is free. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To live is to risk dying." - Leo F. Buscaglia.

A celebration of life will held in the fall from family.
