Mrs. Loretta Turdin

WALLINGFORD - Loretta Turdin, 92, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at the Masonic Healthcare Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Turdin.

Loretta was born to the late Frederick and Carrie Columbus Lunny. She was raised in the Ocean Avenue Beach area of West Haven before moving to Wallingford as a teenager. She was a member of Lyman Hall High School's, class of 1933. She had been employed by a number of well known area businesses, including: Wallace Silversmiths, Backes Fireworks Co., Caplan's Market and Lyman Hall High School. She loved picnics with the "West Haven Gang" and traveling. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the former Grace Baptist Church. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wallingford.

Loretta is survived by two sons, Charles and Peter Sr. and his wife, Lynne; and her grandchildren, Peter Jr. and Pamela Turdin. She was predeceased by a sister, Letiticia Pestey; and her infant granddaughter, MarLo.

A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 16 at 10 a.m. at the B.C. Bailey Funeral Home, 273 South Elm St., Wallingford. Burial will be at the In Memoriam Cemetery in Wallingford.
