Marie Lorello Obituary
January 12, 1930 - May 23, 2024
Marie (Pezzullo) Lorello, age 94, of Cheshire, entered into rest on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at Elim Park Rehabilitation Center, after a long illness, with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Charles Robert "Chuck" Lorello for over 68 years until his passing in 2021. Marie was born on January 12, 1930, in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Angelo and Marge (Campagna) Pezzullo.
Marie met Chuck while attending a wedding in New Haven, they married soon after and they started their family in West Haven before coming to Cheshire 30 years ago. Marie had a heart of gold and was the quintessential Italian mother, making sure everyone in her home and neighborhood was cared for. She was a people-person and was blessed with the gift of kindness that she passed down to her children. Marie conquered many of life's obstacles with prayer and her devotion to God.
She is the beloved mother of Lori Matteis and her husband, John of Prospect, Cindy Card and her husband, Randy of Waterbury, and Salvatore Lorello and his wife, Lisa of Cheshire. Marie is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Michael (Lauren) Stevens, Mindy (Joseph) Kerivan, Matthew (Jennifer) Stevens, Dino Matteis and Whitney (Nathan Kraner) Lorello; her adored great-grandchildren, Dylan and Chiarina Kerivan, Cole and Henry Stevens, and Sloane Marie Stevens. She was predeceased by her brothers, Lawrence and Anthony Pezzullo.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 11 a.m. in St. Bridget of Sweden Parish-St. Bridget Church. Burial was private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org . The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire assisted with her arrangements.
