Martha Biestek Obituary
Martha was born in Weston, West Virginia, January 16, 1935, a daughter of the late Hilda H. Steinbeck Taylor Mikulcza and step daughter of the late Michael Mikulcza, Sr. Martha had been a resident of Florida since 1994, and spent her summers in Meriden. She was a graduate of Meriden High School, Class of 1952. Martha was employed as an Assistant Manager for SNET from where she retired in 1987. She was a member of the National Society of the DAR; the Susan Carrington Clarke Chapter and the SNET Retirement Association.
Mrs. Biestek is survived by her brother Michael "Mikel" Mikulcza, Jr., her brother-in-law Donald Mansfield of FL; sister-in-law Gloria W. Biestek; her nephews and nieces and their families, including the Rev. Paul (Joan) Frazier, James Frazier, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Truman, Pamela Whitman (Rev. Donald Whitman), Marcia (William) Lawler, Frederick (Snow) Biestek, Jr., William (Lori) Biestek, Kathryn (Scott) Sundberg, James (Julie) Biestek, Kenneth "Bill" Williams, Laura Lynne Biestek, Joseph "Jack" Biestek, Melissa (Barry) Rasted Colbath, Janet Francis, John Steinbeck, Rosemary (Albert) Olchefski, Betty Ann Steinbeck and Shirley Toohey. She also leaves many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her sisters Joycelyn Rasted and Constance Frazier Mansfield; her nephew; Robert V. Biestek and her great grandniece; Rachel Frazier.
Funeral services for Martha are private and have been entrusted to the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, Ct. 06450. www.meridenmemorialfh.com
