Mary Lacafta Obituary

Mary C. (Barile) Lacafta, 89, of Hartford, died April 17, 2007, at Kimberly Hall, Windsor.
She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (DePaolo) Barile. She lived in Hartford all her life. Before retiring she was employed as a check writer in the comptroller office of the State of Connecticut. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. Years ago she was the girls volleyball coach for Our Lady of Sorrows team, past president of the Ladies of LaSalette, a member of the State of Connecticut Retirees Club, and the West Hartford Ski Club.
She is survived by a son, Oscar and his wife, Deena Lacafta, of Granby; three daughters, Deanna and her husband, Benjamin Lombardo, of Windsor, Jacqueline and her husband, John Cosgrove, of Windsor, April and her husband, Anthony Cosgrove, of Newington; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Louis Barile, of Plainville; a sister, Terry and her husband, Archie Marcus, of Wethersfield; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Barile, of Windsor Locks; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Joseph and John Barile, Carmen Red Barile and Danny Barile; and two sisters, Josephine Leitao, and Lucy Johnson.
The funeral was held April 23 at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, Windsor, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Poquonock. Memorial donations may be made to the LaSalette Missionary Association, 947 Park St., P.O. Box 2965, Attleboro, MA 02703-0965.
