Michael Banack Obituary

Michael J. Banack Sr., 91, of 44 Sunny Acres, husband of the late Virginia (Baraldi) Banack, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2006.
Born in Meriden on Sept. 29, 1915, he was the son of the late John and Katherine (Faron) Banack. Mr. Banack was employed by Ulbrich Steel, retiring in 1977. He was an avid fisherman and boater.
He is survived by two sons, Michael J. Banack Jr. and his wife, June and John L. (Duke) Banack and his wife, Carmen; six grandchildren, Christina Dombroski, Eric Banack, Amy Barnowski, Duke John Banack, Dr. Trevor Michael Banack, and Kevin David Banack. Dziadzu will be especially missed by his beloved great-grandchildren, Yosh (John), Kaja, Nikki, Rachyl, and Meghan; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Joseph Banack;[ and a sister, Anna J. Champagne.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 82 Akron St., Meriden, CT 06450. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT.
