Michael Giannone Obituary
He was born in Ansonia, Sept. 5, 1928, a son of the late Nicola and Theresa Guagenti Giannone and had served in the U.S. Navy. He had been employed at Mite Corporation in New Haven and after his retirement worked at Stop & Shop in Wallingford for 19 years. Mr. Giannone was a member of the Wallingford Senior Center and enjoyed taking trips to the casino.
He is survived by his two daughters, Michele Wrenn and her husband, Daniel of Meriden, and Mara Rogers of Wallingford; his two sons, Michael Giannone of Wallingford and Mark T. Giannone and his wife, Lisa of Meriden; his grandchildren, Nicole and her husband, Keith, Christopher and his wife, Michele, Danielle, Patrick, Lauren, Natalie, Malori, Ali, Olivia and Nicholas; his great-grandsons, Jake and Zack; his sister, Bess Pitingoro and her husband, Jim of Arkansas, his brother, Joseph Giannone and his wife, Sue of Seymour; and his sisters-in-law, Carolyn Giannone of Ansonia, and Dolores Scelzo and her husband, Thomas of East Haven; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Frank and Sam Giannone.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main St. Ext., Wallingford, Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, from 3 to 6:45 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home Sunday ,at 7 p.m. Interment will be private. www.wallingfordfh.com.

My deepest sympathy on your loss. I have many happy memories with your Dad picking fruit, playing ping pong in the basement or coming to visit in Westbrook in the summer. He always had a soda in the humidfier to share.

Mike was a great guy and good friend.
He always had a smile and a good word to say when working at Stop 'n' Shop.

It has been a real long time since meeting Mike and Mary on the Little League fields of Wallingford but the memories are still deep about the lovely family they both had. God bless their souls today in Heaven.
